What exactly is a "flock"?
A flock is one event, kept. You create one by pasting the link to a meeting, webinar, class, group or page — or by generating a QR code for an in-person event — and everyone who taps that link lands in the same flock. It is not a community you have to launch, fill or moderate: it is the event you were already running or attending, with the people still in it afterwards.
Is this only for people who host events?
No — and this is the thing most people get wrong at first. Attendees get the bigger share of the value, and they get it on a free account. If you were in the webinar, the class or the meetup, tapping the link keeps you in touch with everyone who was in there with you: you can see them, message them, and stay in the loop long after it ended. You never have to host anything, and you never have to pay to join a flock.
Do I need to install anything, or let a bot into my call?
No. There is nothing to install, no browser extension, and nothing joins your meeting. FlockUnlock never sees your call — you share a link, and the people who tap it are the flock. That also means it works with absolutely any platform, including ones that would never let a bot in.
How does FlockUnlock know who else was in my meeting?
Two ways. Anyone who taps your invite link joins your flock directly. On top of that, when you submit a meeting URL we normalise it to a platform and a meeting ID — so anyone else who independently submits that same meeting in the same time window is linked to you automatically, even if they never saw your link.
Where can I share my flock link?
Anywhere the people are. Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, GoToWebinar, Skool, Discord, Facebook groups and WhatsApp group names all work today. So do links to a specific YouTube video, X post, Facebook post, Instagram post or reel, TikTok video or Reddit thread — anyone who shares that exact post lands in the same flock as you. And if none of those fit, paste in any other web page's URL and FlockUnlock builds a flock around that exact page. In person, download the QR code and let the room scan it.
Am I limited to one webinar, group, or community?
No — and this is the most common misunderstanding. You are not signing up for a single community. One account covers unlimited flocks: every webinar, class, meeting, group, post or page you submit a link for puts you in another one, and they all stack up in the same account. Unlimited flocks, unlimited connections, no cap at any tier — including the free one. Your network is the thing that accumulates across all of them.
What is a Flock Report?
Once enough people are in a flock and have filled in enough of their profiles, FlockUnlock writes the flock up in plain English: what the people in it say they have done, what they are looking for, and where the common ground is. That write-up is the same for everyone in the flock. It then ends with a short list of specific named people to connect with and why, matched to what you said you were after — so that part differs from person to person. Is FlockUnlock trying to replace my community or become a social network?
No. FlockUnlock is a networking tool, not a community or a social media platform — the goal has never been to move your community's conversation over here. Your Discord, your Slack, your Facebook group all stay exactly where they are. This is your index into them: it helps people who already share something in common discover what else they share, which almost never happens on its own. The shared chat is just how first contact happens. And unlike a feed, you are never looking at "everyone" — only at your own network, the specific people you chose to connect with.
Is FlockUnlock free to use?
Yes. The free plan is a real plan, not a trial: unlimited flocks, unlimited connections, group chat in every flock, and Flock Reports, forever, with no card. You can also reply to any 1-to-1 chat someone else starts with you. Paid plans do not raise a volume cap — there is not one — they add the ability to start 1-to-1 chats yourself, private groups, and AI network search. See the pricing page for details.
Why is the paid plan not free too?
Because we are not an advertising business and not a social network. The reports are real AI compute over real profiles, and that costs money to run. Paying means your account stays free of ads and your time stays free of noise. The free plan exists so you can decide whether that is worth it using your own events and your own network, not our marketing.
Why are you offering no refunds?
Because you can find out whether FlockUnlock is worth it without paying us a cent. The free plan is not a teaser — unlimited flocks, unlimited connections and group chat in every one of them, for as long as you like. Use it on a couple of real events, see whether staying in touch with those people is worth anything to you, and only then upgrade. Since paid access is granted instantly and in full the moment you subscribe, we would rather not run a refunds process at all: get the value out of the free plan first, then decide. If you have a question before you upgrade, ask us — we would much rather answer it than take money you did not want to spend.
How do I refer people, and how does the $5 work?
Every member gets a personal invite link and a downloadable QR code from the Create an invite link page. Anyone who signs up as a new user through it is credited as your referral, and if they later become a paying subscriber you earn $5, paid when they subscribe. (Existing users who tap your link just join the flock — no credit either way, since they were not new.) Referral payouts are a paid-plan feature.
Do you sell my data to anyone?
No, never. We are not in the advertising business and we do not hand your information to anyone. The one exception is a dedicated offers page, tailored to your interests, that you only ever see if you choose to visit it — nothing like it appears anywhere else in FlockUnlock, and you are free to ignore it completely. Outside of that page, there are no ads and nothing is for sale.
Is it safe for me to put my information into FlockUnlock?
Yes. We never reveal your contact information inside the application — the only way anyone learns how to reach you beyond your name and username is if you tell them yourself, in chat, or add it to your profile. You control exactly what you share, with whom, and whether people see your real profile or just an AI summary of your common ground. You can block or mute anyone; if you block someone it is as if you do not exist to them, not even your presence in the app. You can stay completely unreachable outside the platform. One caveat worth stating plainly: we have no way to verify what anyone puts in their profile or says in chat, so use your own judgment before sharing personal information with other participants.
What are the risks of being part of the beta program?
You are getting early access to features that are still being refined, so you may hit the occasional bug, an unfinished corner, or a change made in response to feedback. Beta pricing is also subject to change as we learn what this costs to run — see our Terms of Service. In exchange, beta members get a direct say in shaping the product and early access to everything new before anyone else.
