Privacy & safety
If I tap a flock link, can everyone there contact me?
No. Nobody can send you a private message unless you accept their connection request. Your email and phone are not shown to other members or the host. Other flock members can see your name on the member list and anything you post in shared chat. You can choose to show people only what you have in common instead of your full profile. You can mute or block anyone, or leave the flock. You can also read the Flock Report without messaging anyone.
Do you sell my data?
No, never. We do not sell ads, and we do not hand your information to anyone. The one exception is an offers page picked for your interests. You only see it if you choose to visit it. There are no ads anywhere else.
Does this have anything to do with Flock cameras?
No. FlockUnlock has no connection to Flock Safety or its license-plate cameras. We do not sell your information. For reports, AI providers listed in our Privacy Policy receive selected profile text without your name or username. Details you write may still identify you, and those providers are not allowed to train their AI on your profile information.
Why keep the name FlockUnlock after Flock cameras were in the news?
FlockUnlock has no connection to Flock Safety or its license-plate cameras. Because we will not let anyone take over our words. ‘Birds of a feather flock together.’ People have flocked together for as long as there have been people, and the word belongs to all of us, not to one company. That is what FlockUnlock is about: you share a call, a class or a group with people who are like you in some way, and we help you unlock your flock. You are the flock. The word is yours, and we are keeping it that way.
Is it safe to put my information into FlockUnlock?
Your email and phone are not shown to other members or the host. People only learn how to reach you if you tell them. You choose what to share and who sees it, and you can show people just what you have in common. You can mute or block anyone. Profile entries and reports are encrypted when stored. For AI processing, contact fields and account identifiers are left out; avoid putting sensitive details in profile entries because the text itself is sent to the provider.
Is my profile encrypted?
Yes. Your profile entries, your attributes and your reports are encrypted (AES-256) before they are stored. So a copy of our database shows scrambled text, not your words. Your connection to FlockUnlock uses HTTPS, and the link between our app and its database is encrypted and verified.
Who can see my profile?
You decide. Other members see only what your settings allow, and you can show just your common ground. The key that unlocks your stored entries is kept apart from the database. Our systems read your entries to write your reports, and our small team can open them when they need to, to help you. We do not sell your information.
What happens to my profile when AI writes a report?
To create a Connection Report, Flock Report, or network search result, FlockUnlock sends the profile entries needed for that result to the AI providers named in our Privacy Policy. Before sending them, we replace names and usernames with placeholders. Email, phone, passwords, account identifiers, and private messages are not included. The profile text itself is sent as written, so details such as an employer or another person’s name may still identify you. FlockUnlock restores names after the AI response returns. The report is encrypted before it is stored.
How is my account protected?
Your password is scrambled (hashed), never stored in a form anyone can read. Too many wrong tries get blocked for a while. You can add two-step sign-in in Settings, so a stolen password alone is not enough. Everything travels over HTTPS.
Your profile
Does everyone in the flock need a profile?
Yes. Profiles are what make the matching work. A profile is free for everyone, hosts and attendees, with no credit card. It is not a résumé. It is a few things you write about yourself. Nobody pays to join a flock, read its Flock Report, or reply when someone reaches out.
How much do I have to fill in?
A profile is a list of short entries about you, like “ran a bakery for six years” or “looking for a podcast co-host.” To count toward a Flock Report, it needs at least 15. Six easy questions get you started, and each answer can become several entries. It takes a few minutes, once, and it works for every flock you are in. You decide what to share. The more you share, the more there is to match.
What if hardly anyone else fills in their profile?
Then the Flock Report waits until there is enough to say something useful. At least 4 in 10 people in the flock need a profile with 15 or more entries. The flock shows what it is still waiting for. It helps to share the link again in the chat, or mention it out loud. Anyone can share it, not just the host.
How it works
Is this another network I have to keep up with?
No. There is no feed and nothing to post. You use it around an event: tap the link, answer a few questions, read the report, and reach out to anyone you would like to know. A standard event flock stays active for 30 days, then becomes read-only. Members can still see its list, chat, and reports, but cannot join, post, or create new reports. Your connections and direct conversations remain available. One switch turns off all emails. If you ignore FlockUnlock for months, nothing piles up except any connection requests you have not answered.
What is a "flock"?
A flock is the people from one event, kept together. You make one by pasting a link: a meeting, webinar, class, group or any web page. Everyone who taps your flock link, or scans its QR code in person, lands in the same flock. You do not have to run or moderate anything. On Gold and Platinum, you can also start a flock for a group or place that has no link.
Is this only for people who host events?
No. Attendees get the most out of it, and it is free for them. If you were in the webinar, class or meetup, tap the link to see who else joined and decide whether you want to connect. You never have to host anything, and you never pay to join a flock.
If it's free, am I the product?
No. We never sell your information, to anyone, ever. We make our money from paid plans, not from you. Here is the deal: we think FlockUnlock is worth paying for, and the best way to show you is to let you use it for free. If it helps you, we hope you will upgrade one day. If you never do, you can keep the free plan for as long as you like.
Do I need to install anything, or let a bot into my call?
No. There is nothing to install, and nothing joins your meeting. FlockUnlock never sees your call. You share a link, and the people who tap it are the flock. So it works with any platform.
How does FlockUnlock know who else was in my meeting?
Two ways. Anyone who taps your link joins your flock. Also, when you paste a meeting link, we recognize the platform and the meeting ID. If someone else pastes the same meeting around the same time, you both land in the same flock, even if they never saw your link.
Where can I share my flock link?
Anywhere people gather. Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, GoToWebinar, Skool, Discord, Facebook groups and WhatsApp group invite links all work. So do links to a YouTube video, X post, Facebook post, Instagram post or reel, TikTok video or Reddit thread: anyone who shares that exact post lands in your flock. Any other web page works too. In person, show the QR code.
Am I limited to one webinar, group, or community?
No. One account covers as many flocks as you like, on every plan, including free. Every event, group, post or page you join adds another one. There is no limit on flocks or connections. Your network grows across all of them, and it keeps going after each flock closes.
Does a flock stay open forever?
A standard event flock is open for 30 days. After that, its member list, chat, and reports remain available to read, while joining, posting, and creating reports stop. Connections and direct conversations continue. Some recurring flocks arranged with a host can stay active longer. Private groups on Gold and Platinum follow separate rules: they stay open while the owner keeps an eligible plan and the group remains within its size limit.
What is a Flock Report?
Once enough people have joined and filled in their profiles, FlockUnlock writes a short report on the group: what people say they have done, what they are looking for, and what they have in common. That part is the same for everyone. It ends with a short list of people for you to connect with, and why, based on what you said you want. That part is different for each person. See sample reports, no account needed.
Is FlockUnlock trying to replace my community?
No. FlockUnlock is a networking tool, not a replacement for your community. Your Discord, Slack, or Facebook group stays right where it is. FlockUnlock helps people who already share one thing discover what else they share. The flock’s group chat is for shared conversation; private messages are available only between people who have accepted a connection. There is no public feed.
Pricing & beta
Is FlockUnlock free?
Yes. The free plan is a real plan, not a trial. Join as many flocks as you like, and start one from any meeting, webinar or web page link. Make as many connections as you like, with group chat and a Flock Report in each flock. No credit card, ever. You can reply to anyone who messages you. Paid plans add things like inviting people in a flock to connect, private groups, AI search of your network, and starting a flock for a group or place that has no link. See pricing.
Why isn't the paid plan free too?
We do not sell ads, and we are not a social network. The reports use real AI, and that costs money to run. Paying keeps your account free of ads and noise. The free plan lets you decide if it is worth it, using your own events.
Why no refunds?
Because you can try the free plan for as long as you like before paying. Paid features start when you subscribe, so we do not offer refunds. If you have a question before you upgrade, please ask us. We would much rather answer your question than take money you did not mean to spend.
How do referrals work?
Everyone gets a personal invite link and QR code on the Create an invite link page. A new member who signs up through it is credited as your referral. Paid members earn $5 when someone they referred subscribes to a paid plan. Existing members who join a flock do not count. Also, on any plan, when a new member joins through your link, verifies their email, and completes a profile with at least 15 entries, both of you receive a free Connection Report about your connection with each other.
How many Connection Reports do I get?
On Free, you get 3 reports to start; unused starter reports do not expire, and generated reports stay viewable. At your first monthly anniversary and each month after, you get 1 more report. Use it before the next anniversary or it expires. Silver gets 100 a month. Gold and Platinum are unlimited. On any plan, a new member who joins through your link, verifies their email, and completes a profile with at least 15 entries unlocks a Connection Report with them. You can reopen saved reports any time for free. Changing your profile does not use a report or rewrite one. You choose when to refresh.
What are the risks of joining the beta?
You are getting early access, so you may run into a bug or something unfinished, and things may change based on feedback. Beta prices may also change as we learn what it costs to run. See our Terms of Service. In return, you get a real say in what we build, and you see new features first.
